        ----Jianghan University students compete in 35 varsity sports and 20 club sports. Students, faculty and staff also enjoy state-of-the-art recreational facilities and fitness programs.



School of Physical Education at Jianghan University now offers undergraduate majors in Sports Training, Physical Education, and Social Sports Guidance and Management, as well as a specialization in Fitness and Hygiene for undergraduates and a specialization in Sports Management and Marketing for graduate students. Physical Education is a key building block in the development of the city of Wuhan, and a cornerstone of this development is the School of Physical Education at Jianghan University.


The faculty of the school includes 6 professors, 38 associate professors, one doctoral tutor, 6 graduate-level instructors, one world-class athlete, one national-level athlete and 6 national referees.  Faculty members age 35 or younger holding a master’s or doctoral degree constitute 98 percent of our staff.


In the past five years, the school has undertaken 45 national, provincial and other types of research projects, and has received a number a national and provincial research awards. Thirty monographs and textbooks by faculty have been published, including Bodybuilding and Sports Anatomy for the national Eleventh Five-Year Plan.

Faculty and students work together to strengthen the development of sports teams, including women’s soccer, men’s basketball, badminton, track, bodybuilding, dragon boating, calisthenics and others.


Over the years, students have made a series of outstanding achievements in various sports competitions at all levels: in 2012, the women’s soccer team attended the National Competition on behalf of Hubei Province, winning sixth prize in the Women’s National Championship; the men’s basketball team consistently ranks among the top three universities in Hubei; the school’s dragon boat team also took the title for the Dragon Boat Race for Hubei Universities; in 2011, Lan Yuwen won three gold medals in Women’s Shooting at the World University Games in Shenzhen; at the Asian games in Guangzhou, Liang Qiuping students won the silver medal for the 4 x 100 meters relay, and Li Bo students won the bronze medal in three different shooting positions.
