Undergraduate Admissions


This academic year, a freshman undergraduate class of 4,010 students and a transfer class of 400 students will be admitted. Among freshmen undergraduates, 1,877 will pursue Science and Engineering, 692 will pursue Literature and History, 831 will pursue Arts, and 210 will pursue Physical Education. Among transfer students, 198 will pursue Science and Engineering, 102 will pursue Arts, and 100 will pursue Vocational Studies.


Among freshman undergraduates, 2,223 are from Hubei Province; aside from international cooperative education, school exchange programs, enrollees from disadvantaged areas and vocational students, Wuhan students account for 80 percent of all Hubei admissions.


Jianghan University is a second-tier university in China.


Budget

The standard student budget applies to the typical Jianghan University undergraduate student: unmarried, financially dependent on parents, living in a dormitory or off campus, attending full-time for Fall and Spring semesters.


Including the actual cost of tuition, certain fees, and the standard cost of room and board, the student budget varies according to course of study; the annual budget for Art majors is 10,000 yuan; for Sports Training majors, 9,000 yuan; for other majors, the budget is between 3,000 and 5,200 yuan per year. Among transfer students, Social Sports majors participating in international cooperative education programs can expect an annual budget of 17,000 yuan; transfer students in other majors should can expect an annual budget of 4,000 yuan.
